Rondo’s
breed is quite rare even in its native Germany. The
Schwarzwalder Fuchs, translated as Black Forest Chestnut,
was developed as an all-purpose farmhorse in the mountainous
area of southwestern Germany.
Attracted by their
unique appearance and heritage, we imported Rondo and
a yearling filly of the same breed in 2004 and look
forward to their purebred and crossbred offspring.
We believe this
strong but compact coldblood draught horse of ancient
ancestry offers much to the the mare owner of any number
of breeds.
Cobs, Gypsy Vanners,
Halflingers, and Norikers are all obvious choices, but
we leave it to your imagination to combine this fine
stallion with your horse.
We enjoy Rondo
as a driving horse and for leisure riding. We also show
him in demonstrations and exhibitions. He has revealed
a strong intelligence in his training, readily learning
tricks like the sit, the bow, and laydown.
